Worried About the Boy’ which traces the life of Boy George from when he left home to the cusp of his Culture Club success. Newcomer Douglas Booth successfully takes on the challenge of becoming Boy George. The make-up and costumes get him eighty percent there, but it’s a solid performance from Booth that takes the portrayal to full capacity and makes this film rise above its TV movie of the week origins.
There are no great revelations. This is the dramatization of the first part of Boy George’s biography Take It Like a Man. Bowie loving queer boy moves from suburbia to a London flat and get’s a job as the Coast Check Girl at The Blitz club. This Camden club is remembered as the birth place of the new romantic movement where Spandau Ballet, Visage and a ton of others emerged from. Boy George and his friends have outrageous hair, boys wear make-up and the clothes are spectacular.
Story: Basically, Kirk loves George but doesn't know how to express it!
Jon also loves George and doesnt know how to express it!

It's a limited edition so when they are gone they are gone
Based around 450 photographs I took at nightclubs from Billy’s and The Blitz via Le Beat Route and the Mud club to the Dirt Box and the Wag. Vast majority never seen before pictures of pop star Boy George.
Boy George has written a quite brilliant foreword for the book, along with others by Steve Strange and Gary Kemp. Chris Sullivan has written the warts‘n’all main text and Robert Elms has contributed an introduction.
A personal record of this fascinating and influential period of youth sub culture, produced by people who were actually there in the thick of it.

Turn 2 Dust Music video Released September 20th 2011 (Worldwide)
On September 7th 2011 Boy George was at "The Light Box" in the UK where he filmed his new music video for his new single "Turn 2 Dust" which is taken off his new album "Ordinary Alien" out now on Decode Records. Finding the cast was very easy and to underscore the song’s message, the video features a provocatively camp cast of comic clubbing characters, such as Verity Mayes who is a girl that plays (A Boy in the white t-shirt dancing) dancing by Mark D Ashley, and Lady Lloyd who quoted on twitter "I'm at the Boy George video shoot today for his new single "Turn 2 Dust" I am playing guitar! Very authentically I must add...don't break a nail girl!! So it is no surprise that George can scarcely keep a straight face. Cheekbones and all!

Turn 2 Dust (UK Promo Ad)
Turn 2 Dust is this political and highly emotional track by Boy George he sings "Chi Chi man everywhere you turn" - addressing the growing lack of tolerance towards gay men and women and asking for all hatred and ignorance to 'Turn 2 Dust'.
"Portentous and powerful, lyrically and musically "Turn 2 Dust" is an highly evocative collage of urban life!" - Pop Dirt Magazine
"By the time I got through my first listening, I liked the song (Who can’t like a lyric that says “all hatred must turn to dust”?). I also like how in the background of the video the word “FREAK” & "Poof" appears. Nice touch, and typical of him confronting those who condemn him." - Jordan Chiarulli Boy George Fever Webmaster
Says Boy George: "I like to write songs that have a message and not just put your hands in the air kind of stuff. I still believe a great song with a strong message can be life changing!"
Now Decode are proud to present the remix package of "Turn 2 Dust" - consisting of mixes from rising superstar DJ/Producer David Jones, and up and coming producer duo Bootik (Bartosz Brenes & Timofey Reznikov) - both who have been working on several Decode Records releases in 2011. Additional remixes arrive from scene star Kris Di Angelis who delivers his own diverse slant on George’s original.

Question: Name the club and where it was located where Culture Club performed their first ever gig!
Answer to the question : October 24, 1981, Culture Club played our first live show at Croc's nightclub in Rayleigh, close to Roy's home turf in Essex. The poster read,"Culture Club, featuring Lieutenant Lush, ex-Bow Wow Wow "I was so proud I kept the poster as proof that we were a real band. Jon even managed to get a 60 pounds fee. Our star dressing room was Alison's mum's house nearby in Grays where we were plied with tea and lots of encouragement. Roy's hairdressing skills were put to good use. We all wore Foundry Clothes. I wanted us to look like we had a real identity.
Sue made me a special outfit, a smock top with matching trousers and shoes all printed with Star of David. I finished it off with a white Rasta hat made by Stephen Jones. Crocs was Southende's premier freak club, made famous by local chart stars Depeche Mode. It drew a mixed crowd, office boys and secretaries, white- faced futurists in rubber and dog collars, trendier types in Westwood pirate hats, rockabillies with high
tops and flat tops. That first gig was exciting and haphazard. I shouted my way through the set, spitting out one-liners between songs. 'This is Roy. He's straight, I thin' Still, we looked good and the small crowd reacted well. We were relieved to have done our first gig, and in front of a celebrity audience

Let Me In (Vampire Horror Movie Feature Culture Club's Music)
Plot: Set in October/November of 1983 in New Mexico a police detective enters the hospital room of a disfigured man and tells him that he will catch whoever else is in league with him, but is then called out to take a phone call. While he is on the phone, a scream is heard, and the detective finds the suspect has fallen out of the window to his death. The man had scribbled a note: "I'm sorry Abby". The movie had to take place back to fit the time that music was released in October of 1983, so the director decided to us two Culture Club songs in the film for "Do you really want to hurt me" and "Time (Clock of the heart)" since both songs came out around October / November of 1983. The songs are used in an arcade scene where Abby is playing Atari "Asteroids" with her new friend.
Let Me In will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on February 1, 2011 in the US and March 14, 2011 in the UK.Let Me In grossed an estimated $12.1 million in the United States and Canada. The film has grossed over $20 million worldwide, itself based on a $20 million budget.

January 11, 2011 is the first release for the new year for Boy George and Culture Club Essentials Collection out now on iTunes every were.
Given the outlandish outfits and multicolored make up mask, it’s all too easy to forget that the Boy George image is only part of the process. A facade through which the man born George O ‘Dowd projects a soulfully expressive voice and tenaciously creative musical force. In the face of personal and commercial ups and downs, his commitment to music –making has led him from stardom as an ‘80’s sensation to more subtle 21st century fame. Our Culture Club and Boy George Essential bring you the best of this true original’s decade. Rounding up the soul –stepped sounds of Culture Club’ Church of the poison min,” alongside the world –beat flavor of a solo “Bow Down Mister.” The rock edge of ‘Fun time. ” And the unadorned, acoustic plea that is a mature and heartfelt “The Deal. ”
Maybe other audaciously dressed and lipstick stars had come before (Elton John, David Bowie and Kiss) but when Boy George and Culture Club landed in the Autumn of 1982 , they inspired all the fanfare and fascination of a castor from another world- one who bore the benevolent message” Be who you are, but above all move” The group Culture Club backed that message with smooth and slinky numbers destined for the dance pantheon – “Do you really want to hurt me”, “Miss Me Blind”, and “Karma Chameleon" – earning a permanent place in popdom from which Boy George continues to reign on solo stands "Everything I Own" and the standout guest spots The strange beauty of “You Are My Sister with Anthony and the Johnson's.

Blazing with radiant slow dance specials like Black Money and beat babies a la White Boy, Culture Club was an 80’s pop comet, flashing across the firmament and then fading from sight in 1986. But if the band’s time in the limelight was short it was sweet enough to keep its one–of a kind leader in the game for good. Boy George remains an icon, one who inhabits an ethereal realm of psychedelic hip–hop with P.M. Dawn and "More Than Likely” as easily as he dives into 21st century grooves with “Somebody to love me” with super-producer Mark Ronson, and as confidently as he steps onto the great White Way on “Everything Taboo" from the musical Taboo.

The new 12" single is also coming out on November 29th 2010. ‘Somebody To Love Me’ is nothing less than bionic.
Sounding more soulful than ever, Boy George proves to be not just a star of the past, but of the future, belting out a moody Motown refrain, aided and abetted by Andrew Wyatt, who flexes his falsetto muscle.
Against almost tribal, hardworking drum beats, Boy George and Andrew Wyatt’s vocals layer up against this intricate, Ronson produced track to create a thoroughly modern shot of supercharged soul.
Following Bang Bang Bang and The Bike Song, ‘Somebody To Love Me’ is the third single to be taken from Mark Ronson’s acclaimed third album ‘Record Collection’.

The 12 track album is a collection of work recorded with his frequent collaborative partner Kinky Roland from 2000-2010. Speaking about the album, Boy George says: “The album’s tracks are all produced and remixed by Roland. There are some things from a while ago that never got finished, including a track I originally recorded 20 years ago called "Don't Want To See Myself” originally produced by Nick Holloway & The Attention Deficit Orchestra.
Ordinary Alien also includes the singles “Yes We Can”, “Time Machine” and his latest effort “Amazing Grace”.While the album will be released digitally and on CD and as a digital download in the USA and the rest of the world including Europe Asia and the UK courtesy of Decode Records. Shot ‘aged VHS home movie’ docu-style by Florian Hoffmeister, with bang-on styling and make-up by a styling team including MVA winner Hannah Edwards, Nova Dando and Christine, the end result is another ingenious, effortlessly cool video by Saam. And George never sounding better…
Culture Club Greatest Hits CD / DVD set (New Release)
The all new Culture Club Greatest Hits CD/DVD package is out now. I really enjoy when Virgin records puts out new stuff! even if you have all the songs already. What makes this collection a bit different from the others is every track is listed as the (Album Version) except for one track for 1999's Cold Shoulder its the (Radio Edit). I was slightly surprised that the "The Medal Song" (Album Version) was featured as well as "God Thank You Woman" (Album Version) was also featured. The booklet that comes with this packet is only 4 pages. The first page is a full face shot of George as used on the back cover of the Greatest Hits DVD, and the second page is a full page shot of Culture Club as used on the back cover of the "Greatest Hits" USA CD, not much really. The DVD features all 17 Culture Club music videos that have been remastered and the bonus 1983 concert for "A Kiss Across The Ocean" which features 13 song performances. This is truly the best of Culture Club. Look out because Culture Club will be back in 2011 with a brand new album.

Simply the Greatest band in the world CULTURE CLUB.
Out Now on DVD is the TV movie of the year! Worried About The Boy!
It’s so good that you can practically smell the hair spray and feel the sweat slide down your Pan-stuck cheeks as you head towards the dance floor. - The Times
This was a drama about George’s complicated love life and the rise and fall of Culture Club.
Did you Know? Worried About The Boy was watched by over 2.5 million people the night it aired on BBC2 on May 16, 2010 Sunday! WOW
What's the DVD got for me?
Well there are a few good things about owning this DVD. One is for the behind the scenes footage of the film. This is really amazing to watch. It has about a running time of 10 minutes. Features interviews with all the cast members and the director. It looks really cold outside because they are all wearing coats. There is a Chapter menu that allows you to go to your favorite scene there are 6 chapters to view. The video quality is amazing its in Dolby HD with 2.0 surround sound. This is an edited version prior to the original broadcast version. One bad thing is that 3 minutes were cut from the actual film from the original broadcast. The scene after George meets Mikey Craig in the bar is a scene that follows after it were George is in his bedroom painting his nails and he hears 'Fade to Gray' come on the radio, he instantly wants to turn it off but cant because his nails are wet, he accidently turns up the volume and is in disbelief that Steve Strange has made it on the radio.

What's the story?
Growing up as a teenager, George O' Dowd realizes he is not like other boys his own age. He is sharp-witted, independent-minded and has a passion for clothes and make-up. Starting off at Essex Green Middle School when a careers officer asks him what he’s better at than anything else, there’s a tangible pause before George gives the obvious answer. ” Makeup” I’m good at makeup!”
Next were taken to leaving the London suburbs in 1980 for squatting in London where George meets his best friend Marilyn. They soon all become a fixture at the infamous Blitz Club – the favorite haunt of those at the forefront of the New Romantic movement.
George is getting hot and heavy with a new conquest in a phone box, who delivers the party line ‘I’m not really gay’, George gives us that giggle and refers to his killer outfit he’s wearing: ‘That’s all right, I’m not really a nun.’
Nightclub pioneer and Visage front-man Steve Strange offers George a job as cloakroom attendant at the Blitz. As a cloakroom attendant at the (in) famous Blitz Club (a job he gets with the best answer to the question ‘Why do you want this job?’ George says "I Don't" Steve says to George "Then Your Hired". There he will meet Kirk the lead singer of Theater Of Hate and George's first true love, who inspires George to write his own music. George falls madly in love with Kirk and writes the song 'The Eyes Of Medusa' about him.
The Relationship starts off well, George’s dyes Kirk hair blonde and Kirk keeps telling George how he looks like a girl. The two fall madly in love with each other. George and Kirk go out on a few dates were there seen walking through town holding hands, everything is perfect. George then has his birthday and Kirk buys George his famous Kimono style robe.
George then goes to band rehearsals with Kirk where he is singing a song he had written about George called 'Original Sin'. George is floored that Kirk had written a song about him. George is very pleased and Kirk shows him the 7" single with the B-side of 'Original Sin'. George then turns around and fixes Kirk's hair and send him off to the stage. Somebody to love me (News)
Doing the Albert Hall with Mark Ronson tonight, can't wait to find 'Somebody To Love Me! From Boy Georges twitter account! Via 6:32 AM Sep 24th Westminster, London.
"Somebody to love me" is going to be filled with many new exciting remixes by Mark Ronson. Featuring an Acapella piano version. There is also talks about that Remixers “Red Amber’s” version of ‘Somebody to Love Me’ may possibly be on the final track listings for the CD single. The single will be released on Monday December 6, 2010. Maybe this could be the possibly Georges first ever Christmas No.1 that George so deserves. The music video is also out and presents a re-enactment of a day in the life of Boy George during the height of his career. It takes place on Boy Georges 21 Surprise Birthday party on June 14, 1982 and June 15, 1982. The track used for the video is a slightly re-edited version to what’s on the new Mark Ronson LP “Record Collection’ features guest vocals from both Boy George and Andrew Wyatt. Speaking of the music video clip, Ronson has said, “Saam is a wonderful boy genius. There could be no better moving image to accompany this song”. With and old 80's beta max feel that it gives to it.
The following message is for the entire website. All text and information can not be used or placed on any forums or Facebook and MySpace pages. I spend many hours on the website and I would hate to see all of my hard work just ripped off and copied and placed on a Facebook page etc. I spend good money to keep this website open per month for you all to enjoy not rip off. If this continues, I have no other choice but to close Boy George Fever for good. Don't spoil it for the others..
