AFTER THE LOVE
(JESUS LOVES YOU SINGLE)
Jon Moss approached Boy George with a rough version of this track that used excerpts from Martin Luther King's "I have a dream" speech as 'vocals'. George was impressed enough with the track to re-work the melody and write lyrics for it under the pen name of Angela Dust. (This name was used on all Jesus Loves You projects, except for American releases on Charisma records; they changed the credit to "The Nelly Terrorist"). Many fans believed the lyrics to represent the status of George and Jon's relationship, but in fact are about the decline of the quality of life in London.The "Martin Luther King Mix" was reportedly circulated as a demo tape and managed to get to some of the fans, but no copy of it has made it to this author's collection, nor has its existence been verified.

THE SPRING CELEBRITY SHOW
(CONCERT)
This concert was organized in Los Angeles as a youth program benefit. By invitation of Los Angeles mayor Tom Bradley himself, George made his concert comeback in America on June 13, 1990. {A surprise birthday cake was also presented to George with the cover of the "Whisper" single drawn in the icing.} At entirely his expense, George flew himself and MC Kinky (and some playback tapes!) to LA where they performed an eight-song set to the delight of the audience.This show served as the debut of several Jesus Loves You songs, including "One On One" and "Bow Down Mister" performed here for the first time that night. At least two different audience recordings were made on audio and are in circulation. A video recorded by the Hare Krishna temple in Los Angeles was also rumored to be in circulation, one was definitely made, but no copies have crossed this author's hands. "Entertainment Tonight" also covered the event and broadcast parts of "Generations Of Love" and "One On One" during their report.

UK Television program hosted by Boy George.This show ran on The Power Station for about a year and featured live music guests, music videos, various celebrity interviews, as well as segments featuring unknown artists, healers and musicians, all with a new age bent. All guests and music videos were hand picked by George and the show had a very new age feel. Many times when a guest backed out at the last minute, George would be at the ready to perform some of his own material or show his own (or artists signed to More Protein) videos. Look out for episodes featuring live performances of "Am I Losing Control" and "Little Red Rooster" by Boy George and John Themis, "Love Come Down" by Eve Gallagher, "Generations Of Love" by MC Kinky, "The Sun Machine" by E-zee Possee, and other More Protein artists. Studio versions of Boy George's "Am I Losing Control" (an alternate acoustic version to the version which was released on the "Sweet Toxic Love" single) and "You Can't Always Get What You Want" were shown during this series as well, as makeshift videos. (Not really live performances - they were pretaped, but unlike a video because they were done in one take.)

POPULARITY BREEDS CONTEMPT
(JESUS LOVES YOU ALBUM)
The sleeve of "Sweet Toxic Love" lists the information, "Taken from the forthcoming album, 'Popularity Breeds Contempt.'". This as yet a unreleased album & was shelved due to a shift in musical styles, and the very different "Cheapness and Beauty" album became the focus of George's creative energy. Spoken word intros and outros recorded by the legendary Quentin Crisp especially were made for this album and were then later used on the greatest hits package released later, on "At Worst".."The Best Of Boy George & Culture Club". Other than the tracks recorded for the "Sweet Toxic Love" single, the songs "You Can't Always Get What You Want" and an acoustic version of "Am I Losing Control" were recorded and makeshift videos for these songs were shown on Blue Radio. (See "Blue Radio") Other tracks were recorded, for this album including "If I Could Fly", "Your Life Has Never Been Easy", "It Doesn't Happen Every Day" "In Mya" "The Boy From The Windy City" and others.

TERRENCE HIGGINS TRUST
(BENEFIT CONCERT)
This show was the live debut of Jesus Loves You in a full concert venue. Still relying on backing tapes for the dancier numbers, a completely live band joined George for most of the show. An AIDS benefit concert, George felt the need to perform for a more mature audience and for the first time in his career gave a concert without the "cabaret" of a Culture Club number.This show, from Nov. 1990, served as the debut for many unreleased songs (until very recently) and is in heavy circulation on audience recorded cassettes.The American syndicated show "A Current Affair" was in attendance and videoed at least the first number, but other than the brief segment used during the story, it has never surfaced. Both before and after this concert George continued to perform very small club dates with a rotating set of about 8 songs, of which 3 were usually performed. (that pool of songs included, but was not limited to, the following: Generations, After The Love, One On One, You'd Better Tell Him, You Can't Always Get What You Want, My Future, Bow Down Mister, and Too Much Love.)
