Track listing

A The War Song 3:57
B La Cancion De Guerra 4:06

Pressed in the Orlake Factory in Dagenham. AN Urban Legend was it was very quickly picked up by the record company that hole was in the centre of the record which was going straight through the middle of Boy George's head. It was decided at this time to withdraw the single and quickly pressed the very common red vinyl version as a substitute.

Another Legend was that the disc was withdrawn at George's request as he objected to the spindle hole going through his head.

At this time Culture Club and Boy George especially were not only about the music but the image was possibly even more important to them and it was considered that the image on the front of the disc would be detrimental to future success and so, in theory, all of the copies of this item were destroyed.

Another Urban Legend theory was that over the years a very small number of "The War Song" picture disc did manage to escape, this particular copy came from an employee at the factory who sneaked it out because they wanted to hear the B side as the title suggested it was not sung in English but in Spanish.

So over the last 20 years on eBay, there have been 16 reported sales of this item and it would be of no surprise to find that some of these were recycled listings so there may be as few as 10 of these in the world, We will never really know.
