I am researching an Online BBA in Digital Marketing and one of my main concerns is whether the degree can help with getting an entry-level job. Since digital marketing is a practical field, I am wondering how employers view an online qualification compared with other forms of education.
The course seems useful because it combines business concepts with digital marketing subjects. Students may learn about marketing management, consumer behaviour, SEO, social media, online advertising, content marketing, and analytics. However, I think practical skills are equally important when applying for jobs.
For someone starting from scratch, I would like to know which skills should be developed during the course. Should students focus on SEO, Google Analytics, social media marketing, paid advertising, content writing, or website management? There seem to be many areas within digital marketing, and choosing a specialisation can be confusing.
Internships and projects also seem important. Working on actual campaigns or managing a small website could provide experience that can be discussed during interviews. A portfolio might also help demonstrate skills to potential employers.
If anyone has completed an Online BBA Digital Marketing program, I would appreciate hearing about their job search experience. Did you find it difficult to get your first opportunity? Which skills or certifications helped you? Did your university provide career guidance or placement assistance?
I am looking for honest opinions from students and graduates who can share how they prepared for employment after completing the course.
