Hi everyone,
I'm researching ways to improve inventory replenishment and supplier coordination for a business that works with multiple vendors. One area I'm exploring is Vendor Managed Inventory Software.
From what I've learned, VMI software can allow suppliers to monitor inventory levels and help manage replenishment based on stock availability and demand. Features such as automated replenishment, demand forecasting, multi-location visibility, and ERP or EDI integration also seem useful.
I'm particularly interested in understanding how businesses handle the transition from manual inventory ordering to a vendor-managed approach.
A few questions for those with experience:
- Have you implemented a VMI system with your suppliers?
- Which features have made the biggest difference in your daily operations?
- How important is ERP or EDI integration for your workflow?
- Were there any challenges when getting suppliers to adopt the system?
I'd appreciate hearing about your experiences, especially any practical lessons or recommendations.
