Windows Fast Startup uses aspects of both a regular shutdown procedure and hibernation to ensure quicker startup. Upon shutting down a device with this feature activated, Windows ends all sessions of users and saves the kernel session along with drivers into a hibernation file. In the event of the following startup, the computer will load the saved data instead of initializing everything anew. It might lead to faster boot times, especially when dealing with older or less advanced storage units. Fast Startup is not applied in case of using the Restart function, which is considered to be a complete boot process. In the event of problems with updates or hardware adjustments, it would be advisable to restart the device.
